I just had to post this one of my boys napping last Monday. For real though, that isn't my living room couch. They are in the playroom :) Posted by Hello

Hayden playing in the big green turtle Posted by Hello

The Big Turtle

My Mom and Dad visited us today and brought the kids a sandbox. Hayden had a blast playing with his new toy. We now have sand all over the place. It's all in fun, right? Grandma and Grandpa were kept busy during their brief stay. Hayden constantly made them play and they fell for his cuteness every time. All he would have to say is "Come on, Grandma/pa. Upstairs!"

We purchased our plane tickets to Wyoming today. We are going to leave on June 28th and return on July 6th. Grandma/pa Jacobsen, here we come!

Mom's Night Out

The Hendersonville Mom's Club held their end-of-year banquet tonight. It was held at Michael's in Arden. The atmosphere and food was great. Everyone had a few drinks and relaxed. It was so nice to get away without the kiddos! Afterwards, we went to an obscure bar that was kinda creepy. Some guy bought all 10 of us drinks. I thought that was nice. He didn't even try hitting on anyone. There was a crazy little man there that insisted on dancing with everyone. He got really mad when I told him that I don't even dance with my hubby. He was so weird! Kala kept insisting on Tracy and I singing Karaoke. We did not want to participate, but she insisted. When her back was turned, we skidaddled out the back door without her noticing. I am sure she cursed us when she realized we weren't around. Sorry Kala, there was no way I was getting up there after that one gal. She sang a little bit too well for me to follow-up her act.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I had to get up at the butt-crack of dawn to take the Mom's Club on a trip to the Pottery Barn outlet in Gaffney, SC (which rocks, by the way!). The day started off great. The kids and I picked up Tracy and Austin so that we could have some breakfast before the 1 hour trip. Things were going good until Hayden pissed off Austin by putting his foot on his carseat. I don't know why, but that is when Hayden's attitude began to take a turn for the worse. I yelled at him because Austin was upset and he thought that I was being funny. Ugh, sometimes I would like to kick him in his little rear! Anyway, he gradually got worse and worse until I just wanted to give him away. I couldn't handle his attitude and my temper was very short. The whole day I had to deal with his whining and crying. Emerson, on the other hand, was perfect as always. The kid rarely complains. He even fell dead asleep while I was carrying him in the Baby Bjorn.

Moral of the story: Next time I decide to go on any kind of a car trip that involves shopping, leave the big kid at home to preserve my sanity.

Are we crazy or what?!

The Mom's Club had their breakfast bunch at 9:45 this morning. There was 5 moms and 8 kiddos (4 toddlers and 4 babies)! What were we thinking?! Actually, the kids were pretty good. I am amazed that there wasn't complete and total chaos.

Afterwards, I took Austin with us to drop off some work at Lark Books. We then stopped at my favorite place in the whole wide world, Starbucks, for a white peppermint mocha and molasses cookies. The boys were so good! We stopped by Kala's for some outdoor playtime and to wait for Tracy to pick up Austin.

Tracy and I took our kids to Burger King for bok-bok fries coke (as Hayden would say chicken, fries, and Coke). There was a crane working outside and they couldn't get enough of it. Because the boys were so wrapped up in the crane, we got to have a very smooth lunchdate.

Tracy, being the brave woman that she is, decided to take Hayden with her so that the boys could meet a baby bunny at her parent's house. She brought it back with her to our house so that we could all see him. He was so little and cute!

Hubby and I watched Meet The Fockers after the kiddos went to bed. That movie is so hilarious!

Easy like Sunday Morning

I slept in this morning and took it easy most of the day. We went to the mall for lunch and let Hayden play in the kiddie area forever. That got old when Hayden starting claiming that all of the play equipment was his, LOL. Nothing much to report today.

Had a terrible day today...

I was so happy that the kids both slept past 9:15 this morning. Too bad that they drove me nutso all day long! I would rather get up at the butt-crack of dawn if it meant that they would be cooperative and easy-going for the day. Emerson whined and cried most of the day, which is SO unlike him. The kid never complains. I suspect that he is teething because he wasn't easy to please today. He is normally such a mellow fellow. Hayden showed his butt so many times that I thought that I would knock him into the middle of next week. Calgon, take me away!!!

I heard from Michele today (the gal that I am going to hopefully be a surrogate for). She said that the reproductive center in Atlanta wouldn't be able to approve/disapprove me from their surrogacy program until next week, most likely. We were planning to meet face to face on Sunday so that we could see if we were a perfect match for each other, but now we are going to wait until sometime in June (if I get approved). We would both rather wait until the center approves me than for us to meet, like each other, and then not get to work together. I have spoken to Michele on the phone and via email. Her family sounds perfect for me to help. I really hope that I get approved. Hopefully, I will get to bring a little bundle of joy to her family sometime in 2006 :)

Hayden enjoying the slide at the zoo. I have no idea who the kid is behind him. Posted by Hello

Zoo Adventure

Me and the kids went to the Greenville Zoo in SC with the Mom's Club today. Tracy and Austin rode along with us. The kids were really good. The only problem I had was keeping up with Hayden. I lost him a few times, but luckily Tracy was there to help me. Man, I need a leash for that kid! Afterwards, a few of us moms wanted to go to Old Navy since we haven't been blessed with one yet in Asheville.

The worst part of the day was when Tracy decided that we should go eat at Steak and Ale. Hayden was awful the whole time and Squiggy (Emerson) was irritable. I got a phone call from the editor that I am working with for the Michael's book and she had some yucky news. Unfortunately, the publishers think that my scrapbook layout for one of the wedding themes in the book is mediocre. She explained to them that I was requested to do simple and easy layouts. They now want me to do a lot more techniques and to stick with the recent trends. Unfortunately, Michael's stinks at carrying the latest and greatest scrapbook supplies(which I am required to use their stuff), so I don't have the best products to use. Ugh! Anyway, during my talk with Linda (the editor), my kids screamed and my prime rib got cold. What a sucky dinner!

Needless to say, I am tired and I am heading off to take a nice bubblebath :)

Me and the boys on Mother's Day 2005 Posted by Hello

My very first entry!

After seeing so many others blogging online, I finally took the plunge today to start doing it myself. I plan to update this site daily so that my distant family and friends can keep up with me and my little family. Hope you all like it!

Hayden had his first encounter with the ice cream man today. The guy didn't see me chasing him down our street, but thankfully a neighbor stepped out and stopped him. Hayden got a HUGE popsicle that he could barely carry and I got a sno-cone that was nostalgic of my childhood.

Big E fell asleep in his jumper. It was a pitiful sight. He was slumped over with his head in his hands. I will post a photo tomorrow.
