Happy Birthday to my BIG boy!!!

Hayden is now officially a school aged kid. How weird is that?? I can't believe that it has been 5 years since he made me a Mommy. Wow, has it really been that long? We aren't really doing much today other than a few little things. I made him cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we will be making a pit stop at McDonald's (or Mick A Donald's as he calls it, lol) for happy meals at lunch. I have 2 dozen cupcakes and some Transformer plates to take to his class. He is really looking forward to that. For dinner, we are letting him choose where to eat and so far he wants Cracker Barrel. I really wish that he would say The Melting Pot or Bonefish Grill but at least it isn't Chuck E. Cheese's, lol.

As for presents, we have been distraught trying to find a Nintendo DS Lite for him. They are not available anywhere around here or online. Egad. I thought that they would for sure be available by now. Christmas was over a month ago for Heaven's sakes. I can't believe that no one has them in stock yet. Anyhow, we ended up getting him some arcade games for the tv and a few other small items.

We celebrated with Aunt Steph and Uncle Tom this past Saturday. Hayden and Emerson made their own pizzas (we stole this idea from Rock Bottom Brewery because H loved it so much there) and we had a nice homemade meal with chicken casserole, egg noodles and green beans. We ended the meal with a chocolate birthday cake and ice cream sundaes. It wasn't a big party but Hayden was content and that was what really mattered. Hopefully he will have a lot of friends to invite next year once he is in regular school.

And after 4 weeks...

I have lost all of my pregnancy weight and then some!! My butt now fits into my favorite pair of Abercrombie jeans and I am so thrilled! I can't believe it. If I continue to drop weight then I have a chance at being the same weight that I was in college. That is so crazy. I should do a commercial for my method. It would go something like this: "Lactating...it's not just for feeding babies any more". LOL

I know I have been slack in the blogging arena lately but I swear that there is good reason for it. Clayton and I have been busy decorating the house. He is slowly but surely painting all the main areas and I am in the process of organizing and buying pieces to decorate our home. It is taking us a while but it is really all starting to come together. I hope to get some rooms completed within the next week so that I can post pics on the blog. We shall see...

Sweet Slumber

E decided to pass out on the floor today. I couldn't resist getting a pic of him as there is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby or child.

Moo

Today I donated over 75 bags of my milk to a mother that has a beautiful son adopted from Guatemala. Each bag contained 8oz. except one so that was over 600 ounces of breastmilk. Sheesh, I can't believe how well my factory is working! Hopefully I can keep up the production as I really am enjoying my newly acquired bosom. ;)

Can you imagine the look on the FedEx guy's face when I handed him this cooler? Ha ha...

It's been wayyyyy too long...

Sorry I have been on such a long hiatus but I needed a break from the ole blog. My hormones from the surrogacy took a complete nose dive after I had the baby. I have been an emotional wreck to say the least. Let me assure you that it has nothing to do with the baby---at all. It has everything to do with missing my friends/family, missing my previous home in NC, not speaking to a particular person due to a big fight and my hormone crash. Ugh! I have been a huge ball of emotions lately and so I have been trying to just focus on making myself feel better.

My house is definitely not helping me. I can't stand even being in it because it doesn't feel like home yet. Clayton is in the middle of painting the living room, stairs, play area and entryway. I can't wait for that to be done. I have ordered a bunch of accent furniture and knick knacks to make the house homier. It just can't happen fast enough for me. White walls and lack of furniture make me depressed. My last house did that to me too. Once I got it all decorated and painted, my outlook totally changed and I felt happy. Unfortunately, we moved as soon as I got everything done. :P

Sorry to be so hum-drum tonight. I hope to be feeling back to normal soon.

What a week's time can do...

After 1 week since giving birth I have lost a total of 27.5 pounds. That puts me at 4.5 pounds from my starting weight. Yee haw! Soon I will get an elliptical machine and I will be able to flatten my belly so that I can button the top button of my jeans once again, lol. I was so worried that the baby weight would stick around this time but I have been very lucky. It may have something to do with the fact that I am a total milk factory and pumping milk is helping me burn calories. I really have no idea. Anyhow, my IPs don't need the milk so I will be donating it. :)
